My Journey: Spring 2008 I was able to travel in Egypt for a couple of weeks on my way home from teaching English is China. We started in the capital of Cairo in the north and then followed  the Nile river south seeing the sites all the way down to the majestic Temple of Abu Simbel near the Sudan border. I then sailed in atraditional felucca boat for t wo days back north on the Nile river to Karnak and the massive hall of Ramses II. I have seen the Greeks' great Acropolis, the Romans' towering Colosseum, and the skyscrapers of today--no one builds for ages like the Egyptians. Everything after just kinds seems a little flimsy.
