My Journey: Spring 2008
I visited Thailand on my way home from teaching English in China.  My wife and I met up with a friend of ours who was living and teaching in the northern city of Chang Mai.  When
traveling, it is always nice to have someone who knows the area and can show you things that normal tourists wouldn't see.  Our friend Brad had become almost fluent in the Thai language and could show us an excellent time.

The Thai festival of Songkran was taking place while I was there and it is the best festival I have ever been a part of.  The holiday is really just a nation wide water fight!  If you are outside, you are fair game.  The whole country just goes out into the streets and throws buckets of water at each other.  It doesn't matter if you are wearing a suit.  It doesn't matter if you are sitting on a bus or in a taxi.  It doesn't matter if you are a policeman.  Everyone gets soaked.

Ask me about the "red shirts" vs. "yellow shirts" in Thailand.
Ask me how my stay on Ko Samet was.
